Srinagar, Dec 18 (KNO): In its continued crackdown against drug menace, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Shopian have seized huge quantity of contraband substances from residential houses in Thiaran Kandi Keller area of Shopian.
The police in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that acting on a specific information, Police Station Keller registered a case under FIR No. 52/2025 under NDPS Act and obtained a search warrant from the competent authority. A team from Police Station Keller accompanied by the Executive Magistrate 1st Class, raided the residential premises of Mohd Shafi Khanday resident of Thraina Kandi Keller.
During the search, 10.283Kgs of cannabis-like substance was recovered from house yard and accordingly seized. Similarly, 1.582Kgs of crushed cannabis-like substance was recovered from the residential premises of Irshad Ahmad Khanday, resident of Thraina Kandi Keller and same was seized. The accused has been arrested.
The further investigation into the case is underway.
